COVID School Note and Follow up

School Correspondences:

• If COVID positive:
  • Out of school for 10 days from start of symptoms or positive test.
  • Must have 1 day without fever AND symptoms must be improving
• If patient is an athlete:
  • Needs to be cleared by PCP (about 14 days from start of symptoms)
• Parents and siblings:
  • Cleared 14 days from last contact with patient (regardless of their own viral test or positive antibody test; WILL NOT shorten 14 day period)
• Parents should notify patient’s school or daycare.
